Clara Bell Beatty Lockamy 89, of 734 Northwest Blvd., passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

Clara was born on March 18, 1935 in Sampson County to the late Boyce L. Beatty and Irene Ezzell. Clara enjoyed cooking delicious meals for her family and loved to hunt down a good auction. Clara will forever be remembered for her kind and loving soul.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday May 17, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328. The Family will hold visitation immediately following the service.

Clara is preceded in passing by her husband: Thomas Daniel (Sam) Lockamy; children: Sam Michael Lockamy and Adrienne Sam Lockamy-Wheeler; brothers: Boyce O’Neil Beatty, James Ivy Beatty, Billy Sloan Beatty and Oliver Lee Beatty; sisters: Mary Loy Beatty and Helen Jean Frye.

Those left to cherish the memory of Clara include her children: Mitchell Lockamy of Mississippi, Carla Peterson of Clinton, and Jenny Lockamy Swearingen of Roseboro; 7 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Clara was dearly loved and will truly be missed by those who were blessed enough to know her and her golden heart.
