Cherry Lynn Monk answered the Master call and entered her heavenly home on Tuesday, April 2, 2024.
Cherry, also affectionately called “Babe by her sister and as well as “Sherry Lynn” by family and friends was born to the late William Dean “Buddy” Parker and Willie Anna Paker on February 28, 1965 in Brooklyn, New York.
A Home Going Service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Bearskin Missionary Baptist Church, 4721 Bearskin Rd., Clinton, NC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
In addition to her father, Sherry Lynn was proceeded in death by her maternal grandparents Verlie Sr. and Effie L. Monk. Paternal grandparents Oscar and Hattie Parker, and Godmother Oleta Williams.
Visitation will be 2:00-6:00 pm, with family present from 5:00-6:00 pm, on Friday, April 12, 2024 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC.
Sherry Lynn received her public education in the Sampson County Public Schools. She grew up in the Bearskin Community. At an early age, she joined Bearskin Missionary Baptist Church. She was employed with Butterball, Inc “Carolina Turkey” in Mount Olive, North Carolina until she retired.
Sherry Lynn wore a friendly smile. She was a loving, kind, and caring person. To know her was to love her. She will be missed.
Left to cherish her memory are sons, Dexter Devon Monk and Anthony “TJ” Ridell James of Clinton, NC; Mother, Willie Anna Parker of Clinton, NC; Sister, Philistine Monk Elliott of Fayetteville, NC; Brother, William Lee Parker of Fayetteville, NC; A Special friend, Antonio Ocequenda of Mount Olive, NC; Grandchildren; Navaeh James, Avarion James, Kaden James and Daniel Bell; Aunts; Essie Mae Rich, Judy M. Williams, Crosby Monk, Alice Williams all of Salemburg, NC; Elaine (Jerry) Owens of Roseboro, NC; Inez Parker of Greensboro, NC, Lou Alice Taylor of Atlantic City, New Jersey. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
