Carrie Mae Golden 89 passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at her home.
Carrie Mae Golden was born on October 30, 1930 to the late Roosevelt and Mary Bell Bradley in Bullock County, Georgia.
Carrie received her wings on February 11, 2020. She attended Crenshaw Elementary School in Statesboro, Georgia. Carrie worked at Hines Laundry as an attendant.
Later Carrie moved to Philadelphia, PA where she worked at Tobins Restaurant as a hostess. She loved to dress and was a diva like no other. Carrie was loved by many. Carried loved to travel and saw many places. Carrie was a #1 cook making the best nut cake, mouthwatering stuffing, collard greens and her famous fried chicken. Carrie was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 32of Pennsylvania. Carrie accepted Christ at an early age, joining Royal Victory Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. C.H. Royal, later serving as the First Lady of Golden Gate Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Walter Golden. Carrie sung on the choir and prayer band. Carrie the joined New ERA Baptist Church under the leadership of Louis Ellis and later joined New Way Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. L.V. Johnson, Sr. Carrie loved the Lord and was a God fearing woman. In addition to her parents Carrie was also preceded in death by5 siblings Ralph Mason, Lonnie Williams, Dorothy Shipman, Earthese Bradley and Ray Bradley.
Celebration of Carrie’s Life will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton, NC.
Carrie leaves to cherish her memories Bernard Phillips and David Phillips of North Carolina, Gerald Jackson (Lori) of New Jersey, Jimmy Jackson (Harriet) , Joey Jackson, Wayne Golden, Carlette Golden, Timothy Golden, Jessica Golden, Toya Golden, Mary Golden, Kevin Golden of PA.
The late Janet Jackson and Linda Phillips will be waiting at the gates to welcome her in. She also had 2 boys who although was her grandkids they were raised as her kids; Seann Collins and his younger brother Jimmy Collins who reveived his wings in 2006. 3 sisters La’Blanch Dewache Register of Ga., Carolyn Lovette of Statesboro, Ga., Jacqueline Royal of PA., brother Harvey Bladley of Killeen, Texas, a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews relatives and friends.
