Carolyn Joan Wilton, 78, passed away peacefully at Pinecrest Gardens Assisted Living in Lillington, NC under the care of Hospice on December 27, 2020.
Born June 20, 1942 in Woodville, NY to Floyd Burnham and Mary Carr, Carol graduated from high school, married and lived much of her life in Northern New York before moving to North Carolina in 1995.
Carol’s hobbies included remodeling, decorating, flipping houses and hunting for treasure in shops and thrift stores. Her true passions were her granddaughters whom she adored and helping friends and strangers in need. She was fiercely independent, always up for a challenge and a loyal friend to many who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Carol is preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles A. Wilton, siblings Elaine Keza and Roger Burnham and grandson Jacob Bettinger.
A Celebration of Carolyn’s Life will be held at 11:00 am, on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Coats United Methodist Church, 288 E. South Street, Coats, NC.
Carolyn is survived by a sister, Brenda Dickhaut of New York, two daughters, Sonja Bettinger (Michael Hudson) and Robin (Jeffrey) Smith, both of Lillington, NC, a son, Todd (Christian) Heath, of Coats, NC, two granddaughters, Elizabeth (Cory) Cox of Pennsylvania and Kierstin Smith of Lillington, NC, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid-19. face coverings are required and social distancing protocols will take place.
