Carmen Alvarez Herrera 88, of 420 Old Farm Ln., passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025 at Southwood Nursing Home in Clinton, NC.

Carmen was born in Lamesa, Texas on July 26, 1936 to Nicolas Alvarez and Francisca Rodriguez.

Funeral Mass will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, located at 211 Irwin Drive, Newton Grove, NC.

Visitation will be held 5:00-7:00 pm on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC. Following the services, in honoring the wishes of Carmen, she will be cremated and will remain at home with her family. 

She is preceded in death by her children: Antonio Jr. Herrera and Teresa Irene Herrera.

Carmen leaves behind to cherish many precious memories, her 8 children: Toni Lopez of TX, David Herrera of FL, Alicia Favela of NC, Roberto Herrera of TX, Joe Herrera of NC, and Cathy Johnson of NC; 13 grandsons: Fernando H. Sanchez, Antonio Herrera, David Jr. Herrera, Billy Herrera, Ismael Trejo, Efrain Montalvo, Fidencio Favela, Roberto Jr. Herrera, Roberto Antonio Herrera, Joe Jr. Herrera, Johnaton Herrera, Jason Herrera, and Stephon Johnson; her 10 granddaughters: Sandy H. Sanchez, Isabel Herrera, Lydia Herrera, Roxan Herrera, Viviana Herrera, Brenda Herrera, Rosie Herrera, Joeanna Herrera, Prance Herrera, and Shelia Johnson; and 30 great grandchildren.
