Carla 'Cissy' Small 66, of 3616 Butler Island Rd., passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center.

Carla was born on November 16, 1957 in Norfolk, VA to Evangeline Blackburn and the late Lester C. Small. 'Cissy', as she was known to many, loved working with children and was a daycare teacher. She was a fan of Duke University sports, loved to play games on her phone and also loved to watch true crime documentaries. She loved her cats like her own babies. Carla was a loving mother and grandmother. She adored spending time with her children and grandchildren, and had recently been promoted to proud great-grandmother. She could not get enough of her new great-grandbaby. She will be missed by her family, friends, and all those who had the pleasure of knowing her. 

The Funeral Service will take place at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at Colonial Heights Free Baptist Church, 1140 W Elizabeth St, Clinton, NC 28328. Pastor Tyler Jernigan, officiating. In honoring Carla's wishes, she will be cremated and will remain at home with her family.

Visitation will be held within the chapel at Colonial Heights Free Baptist Church, 12:00-2:00 pm prior to the service.

Carla is preceded in death by her father: Lester C. Small; grandchild; Rowen Watson; sister: Candace Andrasko; niece: Amy Bass; and boyfriend: Mike Dillon. 

Those left to cherish the memory of Carla, her mother: Evangeline Small of Clinton; children: Wendy Rackley (Glenn) of Roseboro, Amanda Kellogg of Fayetteville, Brandon Kellogg of Florida, Christopher Honeycutt (Dusty) of Fayetteville, Joshua Harrell (Cami) of Roseboro, and Jacob Kellogg of Roseboro; and siblings: Sandra Lockamy (J.C.) of Clinton, Lisa (Teeny) Bass of Clinton, Tom Small of Garland, and Brenda Tew of Salemburg.
