Mount Olive
Our beloved Bruce Fryar Jr. 67, of 228 Smith Chapel Rd., passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Genesis Nursing Center of Mount Olive, NC.
Bruce was born in Wayne County on November 5, 1956 to the late Annie Lewis and Bruce Fryar Sr. Bruce retired from his job with Georgia Pacific. He was a God fearing man but also a man of very few words. When he did speak it was always with positivity and he was always happy to share scripture with anyone who would listen. His hobbies included reading, eating at his favorite resturant, The Sand Piper, and spending time with his family who he loved very much.
The Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328. Burial will follow in Cobb Cemetery, located beside Burning Bush Church, 328 Juniper Rd, Faison, NC 28341.
Visitation will take place 5:00-7:00 pm on Friday, June 28, 2024 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC. The family will also receive friends and guests other times at the home of Cynthia Herring, 254 Wisteria Rd., Goldsboro, NC.
Bruce is preceded in death by his parents, Annie and Bruce Fryar Sr.; daughter, Shanita Fryar; sister, Judy Usher; brother, George Fryar; and mother of his children, Gertie Mae.
Those left to cherish the memory of Bruce include his children: Dwayne Fryar of Goldsboro, NC and Bruce Fryar Jr. of Kenansville, NC; siblings: 'Shortman' Linwood Fryer, Charles Fryar, and Darlene Thompson; grandchildren: Quameisha Fryar of Goldsboro, NC, Yatazia Davis of Clinton, NC, Yiheim Fryar of Goldsboro, NC, and Tyshown Robinson of Rocky Mount, NC; along with 4 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends who will miss him dearly.
