Bobby Smith 79 passed away on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at UNC Rex Healthcare in Raleigh.

Memorial service will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at Garland Church of God of Prophecy, 350 N. Herring Ave., Garland, NC 28441. A private burial of cremains will be held at a later date. 

Bobby was born in Sampson County on October 3, 1945 to the late Dorothy Olive and Wade Vance Smith. He enjoyed going out to eat, going to flea markets, and antique shopping. Fishing was in Bobby's blood and he could often be found on the water waiting for a bite.

Those who preceded Bobby in death include his wife: Glenda Felts Smith; siblings: Malcolm Smith, Donald Smith, Alice Johnson, and William Smith; sisters-in-law: Mildred Smith and Helen Faye Byrd; and brother-in-law: George Johnson.

Left to cherish the memory of Bobby are his children: Sharon Smith Greene (Rick) of Durham, Sheila Smith Manciu of Clinton, and James Michael Smith of Clinton; his fur-baby: Laila of the home; siblings: Shirley Tippett (Jr.) of Burlington, Leroy Smith of Garland, and Brenda Sessoms (Sonny) of Roseboro; and sisters-in-law: Kay Mayes of Cana, VA and Ila Henley of Graham, NC..
