Billy “Gerald” Thompson 84, of 1225 Glover Rd., passed away Sunday July 7, 2024 surrounded by family at Carrolton Nursing Facility of Dunn.

Gerald was born in Wayne County NC to the Late Eula Mae, & Luther Marion Thompson. He was a retired farm worker who had a love for collecting knives and Toy trucks, he enjoyed playing jokes or others, & going out Dancing on the weekends.

Gerald was preceded in death by his wife Patricia “Ann” Edwards Thompson, brother, Ronnie Thompson, sister, Minnie Mae Minton, & step-daughter Judy Strickland.

Mr. Thompson was survived by his son Bobby Gene Thompson of Benson, 2 step-daughters Linda Gail Burgett of Stedmon, Laura Edwards Wehner of Newton Grove, sister Mary Bass of Clinton, Sister-in-law Marilyn Thompson of Newton Grove, Caregivers / Cousin Wayne & Joann Thompson of the home, 4 Grandkids, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will take place 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, July 11, 2024 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328. 

The Funeral Service will be held at 4:00 pm on Friday, July 12, 2024 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery located on Hobbton Hwy. in Newton Grove, NC.

Family will receive friends and loved ones at 1680 Dudley Rd Newton Grove, NC 28366.
