Barbara Stroud 94 of 2700 Isaac Weeks Road passed away on Monday, September 8, 2025 at her home peacefully in her sleep and is now in the arms of our Lord and Savior.

To all those who knew Ms. Barbara, they knew she was truly a kind and compassionate soul whose gentle spirit touched so many. Ms. Barbara's life was well lived, full of love, laughter, and kindness. She left an indelible mark on all who knew her and her memory will be cherished forever.

Ms. Barbara went by many names. Her favorites were daughter, mom, grandma, granny and friend. She loved the Lord, her family, her friends, and sewing. She loved sitting on her back porch drinking a cup of coffee and watching her hummingbirds. She was a retired bank teller and seamstress.

Ms. Barbara was born to the late Gordon E. Chamberlin and the late Gladys Jury Chamberlin on September 22, 1930 in Lima, Ohio. She moved to Florida in later years, but would soon make her home in Clinton, NC where she spent the rest of her years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Henry "Ray" Stroud, 1 son-n-law, Vance Currin and 1 daughter-n-law, Kathleen Wahlstrom.

Her legacy and memories will be cherished by her children, Carla Currin (late husband, Vance) of Florida, her son Chris Wahlstrom (late wife, Kathleen) of the home, Cathy Roberts (Dwayne) of Newton Grove, Brenda Harris (Frank) of Clinton, and Patsy Spain of Texas.

The biggest blessings of all were her grandhcildren and great grandchildren. She leaves behind 6 grandchildren, Kristen Stone, Megan Torres, Rachael "Nikki" Harris, Holly Harris, Lindsy Johnson and Amanda Autry. She also leaves behind 19 great grandchildren.

Ms. Barbara didn't like for people to make a fuss over her, so she has requested a visitation and cremation for her homegoing. Visitation will be held 11:00 am-7:00 pm, family present 5:00-7:00 pm, Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC.

The family would like to offer their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the staff of Gentiva Hospice, especially Amanda Wright and Taylor Matthews, for their extraordinary kindness, comfort and dignity they provided to our loved one.
