A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328. The Family will visit and receive friends within the chapel following the service.

André attended Clinton City Schools and graduated from Clinton High School in the Class of 1975. After graduation he attended NC A&T University. Over the years he worked as a chef in restaurants and at Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA, he was extremely passionate about cooking on and off the job and was honored to prepare meals for his family, neighbors, friends, and anyone in the community who needed it. He was also an avid reader, loved music, loved to watch wrestling and was a great storyteller.  André attended Phillippi Baptist Church of Elizabethton, TN where he also worked faithfully with the food bank and was the head of the kitchen staff.

André was the type of man who never met a stranger. His curiosity and wandering spirit led him to call many places, “home” and many people “friend”. He eventually settled in Elizabethton, Tennessee where he was known and loved by many who will carry him on in their hearts. Rest easy and pain free Dré, you will be missed.
