Alfredo “Freddy” Bermudez Martinez, age 37, was born in Rincon de Romos, Aguascalientes, Mexico on June 13, 1987, and was the son of Hilda Martinez Morales and Hermerejildo Bermudez.
Surviving is his loving wife, Sandra Mendieta Rodas and children, Yandel Martinez Mendieta and Giovanni Martinez Mendieta, siblings, Joana Bermudez Martinez, Alfonso Reyes Martinez, Alondra Martinez-Miranda, and Andy Martinez-Miranda; stepfather, Ruben Miranda Mendoza and numerous family and friends who loved him very much.
He grew up in a loving home in Magnolia, North Carolina where he developed a passion for soccer. During his school years, he played for James Kenan High School as a left forward/midfielder. Later, he became one of the school’s soccer coaches. He dedicated a lot of his leisure time to soccer tournaments as a coach and a player.
Freddy had a bright and energetic personality and was known for his ability to make anyone laugh and tell anecdotes. He adored his twin sons, and his greatest happiness was watching them grow together side by side. Though their journey together was far too short, his love for them was infinite and his memory will forever guide their steps. We have closure knowing that he has gone to his heavenly home, where we will one day be reunited with him.
