Albertha Aycock passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Warsaw Nursing and Rehab at the age of 92.
.Albertha Simmons Aycock, daughter of the late Major and Sarah Simmons was born in Sampson County on February 24, 1928.
At an early age, Albertha joined Moses Chapel Church Disciples of Christ in Faison, NC. She was a member of the Usher Board.
She was preceded in death by one son, Major Lee Simmons and three brothers and two sisters.
A Home Going Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 31, 2020 at The New Church of Christ, 9659 Faison Hwy, Faison, with Apostle Blonny Aycock officiating burial will follow in the Cobb Cemetery.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter: Louise Aycock of Goldsboro, NC, one son: Bishop Grover Aycock (Apostle Blonny) of Faison, NC, Five grandchildren: Ali Aycock (Connie) of Goldsboro, NC Rita Hand of the home, Alfred Aycock (Veronica) of New York, Wanda Aycock of Goldsboro, NC and Monzell Bell (Lillian) of Goldsboro, NC. Nine great-grandchildren: Victoria Hand of the home, Carmen Chavez of the home, Joshua and Mariah Bell of Roseboro-Salemburg, Ashton and Braydon Bell of Goldsboro, NC, Kaniya Aycock of Georgia and Tillie and Connie of Wilson, NC, Four great-great grandchildren: Cameron Hand, Jayden Williams, TaShayla and Diamond Carr all of the home and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A walk thru will be held on Friday, October 30, 2020 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton, from 1:00 pm – 5:00 pm with family present from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm.
