Miss. Alani Za’daya Caldwell, aged 4 days, died in her father’s arms at Maynard Children’s Hospital in Greenville, NC on July 26, 2021. After struggling with medical complications, she passed gently into the arms of Jesus.
Alani is the daughter of Jolante Caldwell and Zaria Smith of Sampson County. She was the answer to their prayers, and they waited for her birth with joyful expectations. During her brief visit on earth, she enjoyed the comfort of her parents voices and their touch. She was loved by all who got the chance to meet her and will be deeply missed.
A Funeral will be held Monday, August 2, 2021 at 12 pm at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel 1246 Hobbton Hwy Clinton, NC 28328. Burial will follow at Sandhill Cemetery, McKoy Street in Clinton.
Alani is proceeded in death by her Paternal Great Grandmother: Kathy Caldwell, Maternal Great Grandfather: Alfred K. Williams Sr. and Maternal Great Grandmother: Rosemary Smith.

Oates and Alanna Smith, Paternal Great Grand Father: James Caldwell Sr., Paternal Great Grandmother: Mary Emanuel, Maternal Great Grandfather: Thomas E. Oates, Maternal Great Grandmother: Shirley A. Oates, Aunts: Brittani Boykin, Jade Emanuel, Zariah Smith, Zanyia Smith, Zakarah Smith, Uncles: Jamari Caldwell, Justin Bennett, Jaden Emanuel, Zayden Smith as well as a host of family and friends.
