Obituary

Mr. Willie B. Johnson (Ben), son of the late Willie B. and Ophelia Johnson of Fayetteville, N.C. was born January 16, 1936 in Fayetteville, N.C. He attended the public schools in Clinton, North Carolina and was a graduate of Sampson Training School. In his early years, he attended Lisbon Street Baptist Church where he was a dedicated member. He was united in holy matrimony to Willie D. Bennett (Johnson). This union was blessed with six wonderful children. Willie B. Johnson Jr. (June) who preceded him to the grave in October 20, 2000. Mr. Johnson was an active member of the Kindah Temple #62 and The Silver Square Lodge #42. Because of his generous spirit and pleasant personality, he was loved by many. His life was as beautiful as the love that he shared, and his influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him. He quietly departed this life Friday, May 19, 2017 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh, North Carolina. Home Going Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at First Missionary Baptist Church in Roseboro, with Rev. John T. Oliver officiating, burial will follow in the Sandhill Cemetery. His beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of his Wife: Wilda D. Johnson of 64 years of the home Children: Carl Johnson, James Johnson (Mary), Randy Johnson (Talibah), all of Clinton, N.C. Janie Rich (Henry), Laura Robinson (Carl) of Clinton, N.C. Linda Johnson (Gordon) of Florida. Ten grandchildren, Sixteen great grandchildren, Three great great grandchildren Brother, Joe Johnson (Hazel) of Clinton, N.C. Jack D. Johnson (Deceased) One sister Mamie Johnson of Fayetteville, N.C. Lue Ellen a special cousin and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation will be on Wednesday, May 24, 2017 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm with family present from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm.
