Born in Clinton, North Carolina to Nellie and Jessie James Bell, he lived most of life in New York, New York. William later married his late beloved wife, Willie Mae Bell who passed away on January 22, 2008 and laid to rest in Little Piney Grove Cemetery. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 4:00 pm at Little Piney Grove Church Cemetery with pastor Harold Boykin officiating .William, mostly known as Joe, was a passionate, honest and a hard working man who enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved visiting the Annual New York Vintage Auto Car show and sharing his wealth of knowledge in vintage cars, alternative medicine and financial investments. In his spare time, Joe enjoyed shopping at the farmer's market and was always happy to share his "secret" on how to live a full healthy life by consuming organic foods, vitamins and herbs. Joe was extremely loving and proud of his four children, Raquel Ferguson (Kerel) of Brooklyn, New York, Matthew Bell of Jersey City, New Jersey, Dennis Lee Bell of New York, New York an Latanya Miller of Freeport, New York. He is also survived by his brothers; Dallas Ray Bell (Ernestine) of Turkey,NC and Milton Morris Bell of Harlem, New York, foster brothers, William Hobbs of Washington, DC, Alvin Bass of Clinton, MD and Calvin Bass (Gloria) of New York, New York; aunt Gertrude Best of Hope Mills, NC as well as his many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other friends. Joe was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him, especially his children. His positive outlook on life, ingenuity, generous and warm spirit will remain an inspiration to us all for eternity.
