On Friday morning, April 28th, 2023 at 7:25 am, God closed the final page in the life of Mrs. Virginia Dixon, "Jean" as she was known by many.

Mrs. Virginia Williamson Dixon, daughter of the late Eula Mae Treadwell Williamson and Clyde Williamson Sr., was born April 25, 1949 and went to meet Jesus on April 28, 2023. She was born and raised in Sampson County. Virginia loved the Lord, was an evangelist and loved to pray for others and help them in any way she could through home missionary. After finishing school she moved to New York and worked as a police officer. She later moved to Philadelphia and married the late Willie L. Dixon. This union resulted in the birth of her only child, Angelita. After moving back home to Sampson County to help her aging mother, Eula Mae, Virginia worked as a school crossing guard for the Clinton City School System and worked in the nursing field until her health declined in 2004. Virginia was reunited with Union Grove Church of Christ upon her return to Sampson County and faithfully attended until her health decline.

A Home Going Service will be held 12:00 pm, Saturday, May 13, 2023 at Union Grove Church of Christ, 716 Lisbon St. Clinton, NC 28328. Burial will follow in Sandhill Cemetery, located 3 Sampson St. Clinton, NC 28328.

Visitation will be 2:00-6:00 pm, with family present 5:00-6:00 pm, on Friday, May 12, 2023 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton, NC 28328.

As the sun sets on Virginia's life, she leaves to rejoice her homegoing: her daughter, Angelita Dixon of the home; one sister: Marie Boykin (Cleve Boykin); one brother: McRae Williamson of East Orange, NJ; special nieces; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
