On Tuesday, May 25, 2021, Dr. Terry Patrick Ginthner passed away at the age of 68 at his home in Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina.

Dr. Terry was born on July 14, 1952 in Onawa, Iowa to Jerry and Lorraine Ginthner. He received his medical degree from the Indiana University School Of Medicine in 1978. On February 4th, 1978, he married Diane Lynn Nelson and they were married for 43 years. His medical practice took them around the world, including to England, South Africa, South Carolina, Louisiana and Clinton, NC. He served as Chief of Radiology for numerous terms throughout his medical staff appointment, and was a member of the Active Medical Staff with Radiology Privileges at Sampson Regional Medical Center from 1988 until his retirement in July 2018.

They raised two sons, Matthew and Kyle. Together, the family enjoyed traveling, boating, and entertaining friends. Terry was an amazing son, brother, husband, father, mentor, and friend, loved for his selflessness, humor, wit, trivia expertise, and advice on all subjects.

Dr. Terry was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Ginthner, and his sister, Tamara Ginthner.

He is survived by his wife Diane, his two children, Matthew and Kyle, his mother Lorraine, his sister Tracy, and nephews Austin and Colin.

A memorial service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, June 5th at 11am at Rowan Baptist Church located at 701 Rowan Rd, Clinton, NC. with the Reverend Matthew Creech officiating.
