Teddy Gene Satterfield 83, of 3461 Bradshaw Rd., passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at the VA Hospital in Fayetteville.
Teddy was born August 29, 1939 in Centralia, Illinois to the late Homer Oscar Satterfield and Anna Bell Thompson. Teddy proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy and Reserves for 6 years. In the Navy, Teddy was a Petty Officer Third Class and a Fast Draw. Teddy met what would become his future wife, Karon, on a trip to the beach. The two married and spent 52 wonderful years together and they were blessed with 2 children.
Teddy worked as an electrician for Smithfield Packing Company for 15 years. In his spare time he enjoyed watching westerns and shows on WWII. He also enjoyed going rifle and bow hunting in Idaho.Teddy was very passionate about bass fishing and was always proud to show off his catch. But when he wasn't hunting or fishing, Teddy most loved spending time with his family and his grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Taste of Heaven Campground, 600-699 Trinity Ln, Dunn, NC 28334. Dr. JT Mercado, officiating.
Teddy is preceded in death by his parents: Homer and Anna Bell Satterfield and his older brother: Charles Wendell.
Left to cherish Teddy's memory are, his loving wife of 52 years: Karon Satterfield of the home; his children: Ara Robbins of Illinois and Timothy Taylor Satterfield of North Carolina; younger brother: Robert Jan Satterfield of California; 10 grandchildren: Lorri Weeks, Joshua Burrows, Skyler Robbins, Jacob Satterfield, Carolina Satterfield, Camden Satterfield, Caden Satterfield, Chase Satterfield, Carden Satterfield, and Lana Satterfield; 5 great grandchildren: Lillianna Tanner, Elaina Cox, Nolan Weeks, Noella Weeks, Emery Burrows; and a host of nieces and nephews.
