Wednesday, April 3, 2013 Clinton, Samuel (Jerry) D. Gannon Jr, 86, of 116 Parkview Rd, passed away peacefully into the arms of his Lord & Savior on the evening of March 29, 2013 at Mary Gran Nursing Center. Mr. Gannon was born on September 14, 1926 in Poughkeepsie, New York to Samuel David and Eva Loretta (Bohlingler) Gannon. Affectionately nicknamed "My Jerry" by his grandmother, he was called Jerry, thereafter, by all who knew him. After retiring from the Marines, Mr. Gannon worked as a bookbinder at Western Publishing and as a fabric cutter for Kemp & Beatley Company, both of New York, before retiring to Sampson County with his wife, Barbara in 1990. Mr. Gannon was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Samuel D. Gannon Sr. Jerry leaves to cherish his memories, his wife of 42years, Barbara (Mielich) Gannon of the home and their miniature schnauzer, Mitsy. No funeral services are planned locally, at the request of the family. Burial will take place on April 17th at Rhinebeck Cemetery, Rhinebeck, New York.
