Robert Lee Wells Jr. 63 of 2138 Lockwood Drive died Thursday November 25, 2021, at Monroe Health Center in Charlottesville, VA.

Robert was born April 23, 1958 in Queens, NY to the late Robert Lee Wells Sr. and Marie Wells. He attended Long Island City High School and was baptized at Rush Temple A.M.E. Zion Church. Robert spent majority of his life in Queens and was very proud of his hometown. Robert made his living in construction and maintenance and he loved sports including boxing, baseball, and basketball. In his later years he moved to Charlottesville, Virginia with his daughter, where he lived until his passing. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends in South Jamaica, Queens, NY.

A Home Going Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton, burial will follow in the Sandhill Cemetery on McKoy Street in Clinton.

A walk through will be held prior to the service on Friday, December 3, 2021 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral  from 10:00 am - 1:00 pm.

Robert is preceded in death by his son Kaleef Johnson.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters: Rosemarie Wells of Virginia and April Wells of North Carolina; sisters: Terri Wells of New York and Charlotte Wells-Knight of New York; brother: James Richard Wells of New York; 5 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

The LORD replied: "My son, my precious child, I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering, when you see only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."
