Warsaw, Robert Ray Herring 84 36 Village Place Apt. passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2017 at Vidant General Hospital in Greenville. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. with Pastor Frank Hall officiating. Inurnment will be held privately. Born in Sampson County, North Carolina in 1932 to the late Harry L. and Eva Jones Herring. He was preceded in death by a daughter Crystal Lara. Robert received his education in the Clinton City School district and graduated from Clinton High School in 1952, during his high school years he enjoyed playing football with the Clinton Dark Horses. Robert was proud to serve and defend our country in the U.S. Navy and served in the Korean War, during his time spent in the US Navy he enjoyed his activities on the Navy boxing team. Robert leaves to cherish his memories: Daughter: Bobbie Rae Herring of Roseboro, NC Brother: Wilton L.
