Rita Faye
Benton
October 27, 1959 – September 5, 2022
Clinton,
Rita Faye Benton 62, departed this life to be with her Lord on Monday, September 5, 2022 at her home in Clinton, NC.
Rita was born in Sampson County on October 27, 1959 to the late Henry Earl and Margaret Elizabeth Benton. Rita was a hard working woman and worked for over 10 years at Lean Bodz Gym in Clinton. She enjoyed her job very much and loved her Lean Bodz family. Rita also enjoyed doing crossword puzzles in her spare time. And although Rita loved her job and working out, her faith was her life. She loved her savior Jesus Christ and her church, Shiloh PH, where she was a dedicated member. Rita put her heart into ministering to others and was a prayer warrior in every sense of the words. Her faith was an inspiration to so many. Rita's faith in Christ was strong and she kept a mustard seed tree which she was very proud of, having grown it from a seed. She often gave out mustard seeds to others, to teach them about having faith. Rita was everyone's mother or grandmother and was there to help anyone in any way she could.
Rita is preceded in death by her parents, Henry Earl and Margaret Elizabeth Benton as well as her sister Donna Lynn Tyndall.
Left to cherish Rita's memory is her son: Chris Bishop and wife Lisa of Clinton, NC; daughters: Pam Bishop of Clinton, NC and Jessie Ammons and husband O'Bryan of Clinton, NC; her brother: Dexter Benton of Clinton, NC; ex-husband and best friend: Norman Bishop Jr. of Clinton; and four grandchildren: Maykala Bishop, Blake Bishop, Trinity Ammons and Jaelynn Ammons.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday September 8, 2022 at Shiloh PH Church, 2271 Autry Mill Rd., Godwin, NC 28344. Rev. Eddie Smith, officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
Hope Valley Hawkins is honored to serve the Benton Family.
