Clinton, Sgt Princeton Laverne West 78 of 874 Boone Road died Monday April 26, 2010 at V.A. Hospital in Durham. Born in 1931 in Harnett County Mr. West was the son of the late William Henry and Ethel Jones West. He served in United States Army during the Korean War, Married to his best friend Mildred Brock for over 57 years, raising their four children in a Christian home. Mr. West made White Oak Baptist Church his church family. He worked faithfully for many years at Carroll's Foods in Warsaw as a construction Manager and was a master welder. Mr. West was preceded in death by a brother, William Earl West. Funeral service will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday evening April 29, 2010 at the White Oak Baptist Church with the Rev. Steven Porter officiating. Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Friday April 30, 2010 at the White Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Brock West Daughter, Karen Sue Trogdon of Clinton Sons, David E. West of Coats John Thomas West of Clinton Robert Clayton and wife Rolanda West of Wallace Brother, Fredrick E. West of Eureka 7 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren The family will receive friends Thursday evening following the service in the church fellowship hall.
