Nettie Smith, 73, passed away on April 6, 2020, at Kitty Askins in Goldsboro, NC.

A visitation will be held on Friday, April 10, 2020 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service & Cremation, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. the family will not be present.

The family will hold a private service on Saturday, April 11, 2020.

She received her education at Pleasant Grove School until the 9th grade where she then entered into the work force to take care of her family. She became well known at the Waffle Kitchen in Clinton where she was famous for her collards and biscuits, she made sure her family had a roof over their heads and food to eat. Nettie was preceded in death by her sons Mr. Thomas E. Brunson, Mr. Walter L. Brunson and Mr. Willie A. Brunson.

Her memories will be cherished by her loving daughters Cynthia D. Moore of the home and Wanda M. Garner of New York. Brothers Thomas A. Brunson, James Garner (Regina) and Muchael and Christina Moore. Four grandchildren Tomica and Perry Highsmith, Ashley and Wornell. 13 Great-grandchildren Jaimeya and Perry Jr., Terry, Igauya, Taliyal, Wornell Jr., Jabari, Jaziah, Natasha, Makayla, Cynthia, Amerie and Kristopher. A host of God Children, Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Her life was long loved and cherished by so many. Nettie never turned her back on anyone and helped all that she could. She will be missed dearly but never forgotten, for  loving mother is now our Gaurdian Angel
