Matthew Newgent 28 passed away on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

Born in Cheverly, Maryland in 1990 to Douglas Barry Newgent and Elenia Mariner Burgess, Matthew was a line with Smithfield. He is preceded in death by son; Cameron Douglas Newgent, father: Douglas Barry Newgent, paternal grandfather; Barry Newgent, Maternal Grandfather; Robert Mariner, Maternal Grandmother; Angelina Mariner.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 5:00 pm at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton, with Rev. Dennis Guy officiating, burial will be held privately at the family's request.

Matthew leaves to cherish his memories: Mother Elenia Burgess and step father Charles Burgess of Roseboro, NC, Brothers: Robert Clayton (Candace) of Clinton, NC, Steven Newgent of Plainfield, In, Joshua Burgess of Roseboro, NC, Sister: Kimberly Burgess of Fayetteville, NC, Grandmother: Kathleen Newgent of Davidsonville, MD, Nephews: Irie Clayton and Camden Campbell, Neices: Emmeri Clayton and Bella Melvin.

Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 4:00 pm – 5:00 pm at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service.
