Mary Ernestine Moore 79, of 105 Royal Lane, departed this life for Heavenly reward on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Duke University Hospital.

Mary E. Moore was a caring & loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Mary E. Moore was born December 17th, 1944 in Clinton, NC to the late Annie & Beaman Moore of Clinton, NC. Mary transitioned to eternal rest on January 4th, 2024.

She attended Clinton City Schools in the late 50s. Mary worked for the late Sharky Carter and held many jobs during her career with him. Mary lived in Clinton Courtyard where she met a host of great friends & loved ones that treated her as family. Mary enjoyed doing arts & crafts with her friends as Clinton Courtyard. Mary loved her family so much and was always about togetherness. Mary also loved reading fictional and nonfictional books, watching tv, and putting together jigsaw puzzles in her free time.

The Homegoing Service for Mary will  be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Galilee Holiness Church, 429 East 2nd Street, Garland, NC 28441.

Visitation will be 2:00-6:00 pm, with family present 5:00-6:00 pm, on Thursday January 11, 2024 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328.

Mary was preceded in death by her mother and father, Annie & Beaman Fryar, 6 brothers, 1 granddaughter, 1 great granddaughter, 2 sisters, and 3 sons: Antonio Moore, Anthony Moore, and Darrell Moore; 2 son in laws: Reuben Edmundson and Dexter Council; and a special friend, Thomas Brunson.

Mary is survived by 4 daughters: Eugenia Autry (Robert Autry), Flossie Monroe (Mitchell Monroe), Kimalion Council (Dexter Council), and Katrina Edmundson (Reuben Edmundson); 1 son, Shawn Moore; 3 daughters in love: Cynthia Moore, Michelle Moore, and Verlonda Moore; 26 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and loving family.
