Marvin Ray Washington Sr., 76 of  Sweetport, La , was the oldest child  of the late Benjamin and Daisy Washington. Marvin transitioned from his earthly home on Christmas eve of   December 24, 2022, in Clinton, North Carolina.

He received his education at Ravenswood High School as well as a college graduate in California.   As time progressed, Marvin served in the Army.   During his free time  he liked to read, find fossils, make paper airplanes, and talk to children about history.

Preceding him in death is his father Benjamin Washington, mother Daisy Johnson-Washington, and three brothers Roger  Benjamin Washington, Elvin Ray Washington and Rickey  Louis Washington .

He leaves behind to cherish his fond memories to one child. Marvin Ray Washington Jr.  one brother, Wayne Washington of Louisiana, one sister Carolyn Williams of North Carolina;  one nephew raised up like a brother Maliki Washington (Cinda)  of North Carolina; one aunt, Willa B. Marshall of California and  one uncle Bobby Johnson of Louisiana.

And a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328. Burial will follow service at Sand Hill Cemetery, 3 Sampson St., Clinton, NC 28328.
