Marvin was a hardworking and dedicated man who spent many years as a construction worker until his retirement. He took great pride in working with his hands and was known for his ability to fix and build just about anything. A true "busy body," Marvin found joy in staying active and helping others, especially when it came to cutting grass for anyone in need—always giving his time and effort with pride and kindness.

At the young age of 16, Marvin answered the call to serve as a deacon, a role he carried with unwavering dedication and faith throughout his life. He loved the Lord deeply and expressed his faith through song, never missing an opportunity to sing at gatherings and church functions. His favorite song, "A Heart Like Thine," was a reflection of the gentle and faithful spirit he carried.

Marvin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lula Boykin; his parents, Henry Lee Boykin and Nettie Mae Wells; his grandson, Daqwon Boykin; his brothers, Robert Boykin and Jessie James Boykin; and his sister, Brenda Stevens. Today, we find comfort in knowing he is reunited with his wife and loved ones.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children: Marvin Boykin Jr., Anita Boykin Brown, and Towan Boykin; his grandchildren: Thyesha Underwood, Cassandra Rein, Franeshia Brown, and Aneshia Brown; and his great-grandchildren: Elijah Godfrey, Karter Moore, Karson Moore, Kyrie Campbell, and Harmony Holloway; his siblings: James Frank Boykin(Joyce), Doris Raynor, Linwood Ray Boykin, Linda Boykin.
