Once again our Heanenly Father picked a beautiful flower from his garden. On Saturday morning June 24, 2017 at approximately 4:15 am, He called to her eternal rest our sister, aunt, cousin and friend "Martha Edna Bryant". She was born on March 14, 1934 to the late Lane and Mary Frances Bryant. Edna was preceded in death by three brothers: Willie Lane Bryant, James Edward Bryant, Wendell Bryant, Two sisters: Annie Grace Marshall and Betty Jean Bryant Butler. At an early age she joined Little Piney Grove Church. She later joined Union Grove Church of Christ. Edna received her education in the Sampson County School System and from then she was employed at a textile plant for 30 years, later she left to go to work at Lundys Packing Company up until she retired after working there for 20 years. Edna loved people and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She was a great sister, aunt, cousin and friend. She always enjoyed cooking for everybody at Thanksgiving and Christmas family gatherings. She will truly be missed. Home Going Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Union Grove Church of Christ, 716 Lisbon St., burial will follow in the Sandhill Cemetery. She leaves to cherish with loving memories special nephews Edward Marshall Jr. of the home, Lewis (Linda) Marshall, Charles Bryant and Kenneth Marshall, Special Nieces: Edna Marshall, Annie Doris Marshall and Princess Marshall Three sisters: Alice Frances Kirby of Clinton, NC, Beverly Roase Watson of Clinton, NC, Mary Ellen Parker of Salemburg, NC, Special sitter: Michael Faison Special Friends: Alice Monroe, Evelyn Fontus, Angela McLaulin, Martha Taylor and Ernestine Jackson, A host of other cousins, friends, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm with family present from 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service & Cremation, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton.
