Maria Aguila 78, Gods Precious Flower, of Autryville, NC, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Sampson Regional Medical Center.

Maria was born on July 28, 1945 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico to the late Rafael Aguila and Dolores Gabriel. Maria was known as "Guelly" by many. She worked for NYCHA close to 12 years, cooking and cleaning were her favorite hobbies. Maria also enjoyed gardening in her spare time and spending time with her dogs. Maria was a hard worker even after she retired. She is loved deeply and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

A Funeral Service will be held in her honor at 2:00 pm on Monday, October 9, 2023 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328. Burial will follow in the Springvale Cemetery located on W. Elizabeth St. Clinton, NC.

Family will gather for a visitation 6:00-8:00 pm on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328.

Maria was preceded in death by her brothers, Antonio and Eliud & her sisters, Nilda, Lidia, Esther, and Evelyn.

Those left to cherish the memory of Maria are her 3 children: Orlando, Richard (Rebecca) & Frankie; her brother, Rafael (Ito) & sisters, Luz and Ana; 8 grandchildren: Shamar, Precious, Shaheen, Sharima, Nahiem, Kahiem, Rey Jr., & Shiloh; 4 great-grandchildren: Cairo, Egypt, Leo, & Sakkarah; several nieces and nephews and their families; and a special bonus daughter, Waleska Billups (Letty).
