Margaret Cummings, 86, passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020, at her home.

Margaret Alice Cummings was born Sept 30,1934 in Brooklyn, NY to James Alfred and Marilou Dixon Powers. She was raised in a loving Christian home along with her two brothers, attending Bethany Baptist Church where she was baptized and later became a member.

Margaret's vibrant personality shone through from childhood, as she was always making friends wherever she was. When she entered a room, it would light up. To know her was to love her and that never changed throughout her 86 years.

Margaret received her education in the public schools of New York City, graduating from P.S. 93 and Girls High School. She always loved style and attended several modeling schools to pursue her passion.

Her family life began when she met the love of her life, Campell Anthony Cummings, through a friend. Campbell and Margaret would marry in April of 1958 in a lovely wedding ceremony and from this union two children were born: Tony and Karen.

Margaret entered into the business world as an employee for The Book of the Month Club where she worked for over ten years and made many long-lasting friendships.

Upon retiring, Tony and Margaret relocated to Wallace, North Carolina. Margaret joined Adoram Baptist Church which was the home church of her parents and grandparents. She was the family matriarch and will forever be in our hearts.

To cherish her memory, Margaret leaves behind her daughter Karen Cummings, granddaughters Faith and Perrine Cummings, brother Winfred Powers, sister-in-law Yvonne Powers, goddaughters Debra Langaigne and Simone Martinez, and cousins Michael and Marcia Herring and David and Nancy Jordan.
