Turkey, Malcolm Allen Hudson, 44, of 976 Hudson Road in Turkey, passed away on Sunday, June 23, 2013. Mack, as he was affectionately called by family and friends, was the son of the late William Edward and Swannie Mae (Quinn) Hudson. Born and raised in Sampson County, Mack was educated in the Union and Hobbton School districts. While still in high school he left and entered Job Corps in Kentucky, where he would graduate a government certified heavy equipment operator. Just like his father, Mack was a 'jack of all trades' and master of many. Mack was able to do anything he set his mind to. He had a loving, soft-spoken, gentle soul and was a loyal friend to all who graced his path. Mack loved to hunt and was an avid fisherman. He was an entrepreneur; parlaying his love of fishing into a business. Under the label 'Mack's Lures' he would design, produce, and market assorted saltwater lures, rigs, and weights. Mack also loved to teach people how to fish, especially children. Malcolm was preceded in death by his brother Nathan Jerome Hudson and a nephew, Jared Johnson. Funeral services will be held 7:00pm on Thursday, June 27th, 2013 at Hope Valley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Bill Smith officiating. Hudson of Sulphur, Louisiana; Nieces: Brittany (Andrew) Odom of Spivey's Corner, Amber (Terry) Lewis of Clinton; Niece/Goddaughter: Aleisha Reagan Pope of Turkey; Nephews: Chris Patterson of Clinton Aaron Stephens of New Bern; One Uncle, three Aunts, and A host of cousins and friends. Visitation will follow services on Thursday night at the Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hope Valley Funeral Services to help offset the funeral expense.
