Magdalene Sutton, 81, of Dunn, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2020 at Cornerstone Nursing Center.  Magdalene was born in Sampson County on February 17, 1938 to the late Robert and Annie (McLeod) Sutton.

Magdalene was the caretaker of all of the family children.  She was the family entertainer. She kept the family laughing by always having a smile on her face and telling jokes.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her five sisters: Mary Lou Williams, Flossie Mae Clark, Mamie Pearl McDonald, Annie Louise Massey, Annie Doris McQueen, and two brothers: Donnie Franklin Sutton and Ronnie Lee Sutton.

Magdalene leaves behind her two sisters: Pauline Bailey of Clinton and Martha Draughorn of Fayetteville and a host of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 20, 2020 at 2:00pm at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel located at 1246 Hobbton Highway Clinton, NC 28328

Visitation will be held one hour prior to funeral service.
