Linwood Austin Bass, 80, of 2032 Whistler Avenue, Baltimore, Maryland, was born January 29,

1946, in Sampson County, North Carolina, and departed this life surrounded by the memories of

a family who loved him dearly.

Linwood was preceded in death by his parents, Nossie Bass and Lilly Mae Bass; his son, Glenn

Jones; his granddaughter, Tiffany Jones; his sisters, Erlene Hair and Jean Powell; and his

brothers, James “Buddy” Bass, Larry Bass, and Sheldon Bass.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Mary Bass; his sons, David Jones, Tony Bass, Timmy

Jones, all of Baltimore, Maryland, Daniel Bass of Texas, and Linwood Ray Bass of Wilmington,

North Carolina; his daughter, Charlene Bass; and her boyfriend, Keith Oxendine of Pembroke,

North Carolina.

Funeral Service will be held 1:00pm Saturday 15, 2026 at Hope Valley Hawkins Chapel 1246 hobbton Hwy Clinton. by the Pastor Chris Bishop burial will follow at Salemburg PFBC 299 Fayetteville Street Salemburg NC

He is also survived by his sisters, Patricia, Wanda, and Darrell Adkins, all of Roseboro, North

Carolina; his brother, Ronnie Bass of Wilmington, North Carolina; and his uncle, Dre Carlisle.

Linwood also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews,

extended family members, and friends who will cherish his memory and the many moments they

shared with him.

His life will be remembered through the love of his family and friends, and his memory will

continue to live in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
