Lydia Ann
Maldonado
Mar 29, 1967 — Feb 12, 2021
Lydia Ann Maldonado of Newton Grove, NC passed away after a long battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was 53 years old. It would be wrong to say that Lydia lost her battle because she never stopped fighting No matter how sick she was, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Lydia remained strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Lydia. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn't mean she lost her fight.
Lydia is survived by her two children, Richard and Dillon, who made up the entirety of her world.
Lydia was the daughter of predeceased Felix and Elva Maldonado. Besides her children, Lydia is survived by her siblings Felix, Robert, Veronica, Sylvia, Michael and predeceased Thomas and Mary Maldonado. Her memory will always live through her grandchildren Naomi and Charlotte, as well as her wonderful nieces, nephews, and friends.
Lydia was a very strong and loving person. She touched the lives of so many who came in contact with her and experienced her unconditional love, generosity and laughter.
Lydia, your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure. You will be loved beyond words and missed beyond measure.
Her funeral will be a private ceremony for family members. Her family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a domestic violence shelter in her memory.
Hope Valley Hawkins is honored to serve the McCullen Family.
