Lula Boykin was born on September 8, 1945 in She peacefully transitioned into glory on February 24, 2021, surrounded by loved ones. She was the daughter of the late Martha Ella and Junious Cox. Lula graduated from Hargrove High School in 1964. Lula loved to cook, sew, take care of children, and spend time with her loving family. Lula was also a breast cancer survivor. In addition to her parents, Lula is also preceded in death by her brothers Johnny Cox, Charlie Cox, her sister Maggie Kornegay, and her grandson Daqwon Boykin.

A walk-through will be held on Monday, March 1, 2021, from 2:00 pm - 6:00pm at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel; 1246 Hobbton Hwy, Clinton, NC 28328. Family will present from 5:00pm - 6:00pm.

Lula is survived by her husband of 57 years Marvin Boykin Sr,; sister, Cleo Cox of Mount Olive, NC; brother, Ashley Cox of Goldsboro, NC; children, Marvin Boykin Jr of Clinton, NC , Anita Boykin Brown of Clinton, NC, Towan Boykin of Raleigh, NC; four grandchildren Thyesha Underwood, Cassandra Rein, Franeshia Brown, Aneshia Brown; four great grandchildren Elijah Godfrey, Karter Moore, Karson Moore, and Kyrie Campbell. She also leaves to cherish her memories a host of brothers and sisters in laws, nieces, nephews, and many friends. As Lula Would Say "I Loves You And You Can't Do Nothing About It But Just Love Me More"

Graveside service will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens; 3620 Roseboro Hwy, Clinton, NC 28328.
