Louis Gene (Lou) Kearns,87, 711 College Street passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday September 15, 2024,he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather,
Born on April 30, 1937,to the late Robert Melton and Sarha Caton Kearns. Louis served honorably in the United States Army, stationed in Germany, before returning home to start his family. He married Helen Marie Justh on July 20, 1957, and together they raised four children: Stan (Joanne) Kearns, Cyndi (Rick) Fowler, Joan Kearns, and Steve (Maureen) Kearns.
Lou, as he was known by friends and family, was a proud resident of Northern Virginia, where he was a passionate fan of the Washington Redskins and an avid sports enthusiast in general. He enjoyed golfing, socializing with friends and family, and spending time with his loved ones.
Louis is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Helen Marie Kearns; their four children; eight grandchildren: Brad (Kelly) Lee, Brandon (Nia) Lee, Brittany (Jared) Poindexter, Ryan Kearns, Sean Kearns, Allyson Kearns, Holden Kearns, and Nicholas Kearns; and four great-grandchildren: Jax, Harrison, Taylor, and Marseus. He is also survived by Lois Mazzello of Kenneth City, Florida, his twin sister and was preceded in death by their 8 older siblings.
Family and Friends will received at his home 711 College Street on Wednesday evening, September 18, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Louis will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
