Lou Ellen Owens, 68, of 2965 White Woods Road, Salemburg passed away on Sunday, November 20,2016 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro. A Home Going service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 26,2016 at Mingle Hill Disciples Church, 100 Zoar Church Road, Salemburg with Rev. Dr. Eddie Parker officiating, burial will follow in the Howard Cemetery. Lou Ellen Owens was born on Jan-1- 1948 to Haywood and Maggie Melvin. Mrs. Owens graduated in 1966 from Charles E. Perry. She attended Mingle Hill DOC in Salemburg, served on the usher board, and Home Mission. Lou was a Sunday school teacher, taught Vacation Bible school, was the Senior Choir president, resident assistant for the CYF summer camp, a part of the kitchen committee, and drama ministry. She received her degree in theology on November 20th from the Western Assembly in Newton Grove. Mrs. Lou Owens is preceded in death by: Husband: James F.
