Leah Claire Matthews, 25, passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at her home.

Leah was born on August 25, 1995, to Dale and Frances Matthews. She enjoyed to video chat with her friends as they shared common interests and was often occupied by her phone! Leah Matthews is preceded in death by her grandfathers: William Matthews & Stacy Phipps and grandmothers: Gloria Matthews & Shirley Phipps.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at Clinton Community Church Life Center with Pastor Eddie Barnes, officiating.

Leah Claire Matthews leaves to cherish her memories, parents: Dale and Frances Matthews of the home, siblings: Catherine McKenzie of Newton Grove, NC, David Matthews of Clinton, NC, Meagan McCurdy of Tennessee, Kimberly Matthews, Elizabeth Matthews, Nicholas Matthews, Joshua Matthews, Emily Matthews, Tucker Matthews, Olivia Matthews, McKenna Matthews, and Jesse Matthews all of the home. Leah also leaves behind her four-legged friend, Buzzy.

Leah Matthews will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved her. Her beautiful smile will forever be remembered.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Spina Bifida Association in memory of Leah Claire Matthews.
