Hope Mills

Ms. LaTassah Lynette Murphy, age 45, departed this life August 28, 2022 at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, Fayetteville,NC.

LaTassah Lynette Murphy was born to Delphine Simmons of Garland, NC and the late Carl Edward Murphy.

LaTassah, lovingly known as Tat to her family and Tasha to her friends, was first and foremost a MOTHER. Tat was a devoted daughter, sister, and friend. Words used to describe her would be strong, resilient, and loving with a heart of gold. Tat attended school in Sampson and Cumberland County. She opened a home for adults with disabilities and received  her Administator Certification in 2020 and will forever reign as the "Queen of Couponing". Tat was a member of "Straight Smoke Car Club"and was excitedly expecting the arrival of her 1st grandchild.

Tat is preceded in death by her son Darius Murphy and her father Carl Edward Murphy.

Tat leaves to cherish her memory, her three sons: Dominique Murphy, Devondre Hall, Jason Hall Jr. of the home; her mother, Delphine Simmons of Garland, NC; two sisters: Nicole Ware (Dray) of Garland, NC and LaRhonda Murphy of Clinton, NC; two brothers: Rodrecus Corbett of Hope Mills, NC and Timothy Murphy (Shanna) of Salemburg, NC; eight aunts and one uncle; a host of nieces and nephews , one special niece: Ne'Vaeh  Ware; three special nephews: Se'Maj Williams, Tavion Williams, and Draffus Ware Jr.; a very special cousin and friend: Erica Merritt and two very special friends: Terrance Regan and Paul Shawntell Dinkins.

Home Going Celebration will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday September 6, 2022 at Lisbon Street Missionary Baptist Church, 401 Lisbon Street Clinton, NC 28328. Rev. Dr. Thaddeus Godwin Sr. officiating. Burial to follow at Rockfish Memorial Park, 4017 Gillespie St, Fayetteville, NC 28306.

Visitation will be held from 2:00-7:00 pm, family present from 6:00-7:00 pm, on Monday September 5, 2022 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton, NC 28328.
