Kenneth Ray McLamb 62, of 10168 Hobbton Hwy., passed away Friday, February 9, 2024.

On Friday evening, February 9, 2024, Kenneth Ray McLamb (Kent) departed this earthly life.

Kenneth Ray  McLamb was born on June 3, 1961 in Sampson County to the Late Alfonza and Rena McLamb.  He was the tenth of 13 children.  He received his early years of education in the Sampson County Public School System and graduated from Hobbton High School.  After  graduation he started his college career at Shaw University, then he decided that the Arm Forces was were he needed to be and he join the United States Air Force.

Kent was a member of Union Star Free Will Baptist Church in Clinton,NC.

Kent was a person of many talents.  He had numerous jobs and was great at all of them.

Kent had a love for basketball and he was a true fan of  UNC!

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328. Burial will follow in the Rena McLamb Cemetery, 10168 Hobbton Hwy., Clinton, NC 28328.

Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, 12:00-1:00 pm, within Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel.

Kent is preceeded in death by his parents, Alfonza and Rena McLamb, his brothers, Jerry, Eugene ,Billy McLamb and David,  his sisters, Stella McLamb and Janet Lindsey

Kent leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Karen S.. McLamb, his two sons, Byron Haywood of Marietta, GA and A-Vel McLamb of  Arlington, TX., one daughter, Jasmine Willies of Las Vegas, NV, his brothers, Jimmy McLamb (Janie), Alfonza McLamb, all of Clinton, NC., Ricky McLamb (Ferali) of Raleigh, NC and his sisters, Joyce M. Robinson (Tommy) Bettie Daughtry, and Tarsha Boone (Terrell) of all of Raleigh, NC and 8 grandchildren.

Kent will also be forever remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and dear friends.
