Obituary

Newton Grove, Kenneth Lawrence Higginbotham 44 of 3200 McLamb Road passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton. Funeral services will be held at 3:00pm on Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Immanuel Baptist Church with Rev. Timothy Ameen officiating, burial will follow in the Clinton Cemetery. Ken was a native of Prince George's County, Maryland. He loved things that were trash to some but treasure to him. At an early age Ken shared an interest in the tree business, along side of his brother Shannon, Kenny worked for a while in that profession. Ken was also known for his ability to connect with people with people from all walks of life there was never an encounter when Ken didn't make a friend. Ken loved to fish as well, he did so almost every day. During Kens birthday the past June, he met a family eating dinner seated at the table behind him, after telling the family that he liked the "Happy Birthday" sign on their cake the family gave the sign to Ken and he and his sister Angela used it for their cake. Ken was never a stranger to anyone, he loved everyone as well as his family. Family was one of the most important things in his life. He could also sell anything to anyone, anywhere, his talent for that was widely known....Kens happiness and ability to adapt to any situation, giving inspiration was his focus in life.
