Joseph Benjamin
Trent
Aug 17, 1934 — Aug 9, 2021
Clayton
Clayton,
Joseph Benjamin Trent formally of West Haven, Connecticut passed away on August 9, 2021 at home in Clayton, NC.
He was the beloved husband of Polly Lou Burns Trent. He was born to the late William and Ivory Taylor Trent in Cumberland, VA on August 17, 1934 where he grew up in a loving home. His mother was a homemaker who took care of the home and children. His Father was a crop farmer who also raised and sold tobacco along with pulp wood. He moved to New Haven, CT where he met his love Polly. They married and lived in New Haven for awhile and then purchased a home in West Haven CT where they raised their children. He worked at Seamless Rubber Co., then Bayer Pharmaceuticals of West Haven until his retirement. He learned about Jehovah God when a young pioneer couple Tony and Frances Orrieno came to their door and showed him from the Bible that God has a name. As he studied God's word he came to know the real meaning of what it meant to serve and worship God. He dedicated his life to God and was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1959. He was a member of the Allingtown Kingdom Hall in Orange, CT where he served as an Elder for many years. He loved the ministry and loved helping others learn about God, and pioneered as a full time volunteer for 19 years until his Illness. He enjoyed sports, gardening, telling jokes and taking his sons fishing. He loved playing the guitar and was quite good.
