Joseph Donte Beard 30 of 114 Dogwood Circle passed away on Saturday, May 16, 2020 at Sampson Regional Medical Center in Clinton.

Joseph was a graduated from Clinton High School class of 2008 and attended Sampson Tech and James Sprunt for Cosmetology and later went to Job Corp. He had a love for hair, friendly personality and deep sense of compassion for people and family. His love was genuine and nothing could separate him from his dog "Angel". Born December 29, 1989 to Sherry Smith and Joseph Beard. At an early age, he joined St. Jude United Holiness also attended New Life Outreach. He preceded in death maternal grandparents Peggy Smith, and Callie Sanders and great grandma Willie Frances Bennett.

A home going service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, May 22, 2020 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories: mother, Sherry Smith; father Joseph Beard(Angela); one sister Janita Beard;  God mother Lisa Jones; God son Christopher Smith; niece Arriyah Cromartie aunts Ida(Kim),Cosandra, Harriett, Marguerita and LaToya, uncles Thomas McLamb, Donald Ray Beard, James Edward Beard, Leon Beard, Edward(Skeet) Beard(Barbara), Jimmy Beard(Robin), Jerome Rich; great aunts Blonnie Owens(James), Gloria Atkinson(Danny), Annette Pride; great uncles Joe Tatum(Louquians), Roscoe Bennett(Sarah); host of cousins, sisters, brothers and friends. Special friends; Rebecca, Empris, Joyette, Manecka, Tanshiana, Jerrell,  Demetrius, Dalton, Shaundarious and Anthony. Special grandma Betty Jean Hammond.

A public walk thru will be held on Friday, May 22, 2020, 2 hours prior to the service from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm.
