Clinton, Army Veteran John "Jack" Richard Meredith Jr. 64 of 39 Papa Jack Lane passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at his home with his family by his side. Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Monday, May 15, 2017 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy., with Rev. Al Harman officiating, burial will follow in the Sandhill State Veterans Cemetery in Springlake, NC. Born in Sandusky, Ohio in 1953 to the late John Richard Meredith Sr. and Rita Gruber Meredith. John was a Veteran of the US Army, received the National Defense Service Medal and was a Marksman during his enlistment. John was called by many names but those that new him best would know him as "Jack" or "Ol' Man", but for his wife he was her love and one of the greatest loves of her life. John will be greatly missed by his wife, children and grandchildren. Services have been entrusted to Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service & Cremation.
