John K. Chavis Jr. 65 of 155 john Chavis Road passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Moses Cone-Select Specialty Hospital in Greensboro. Born in 1950 in Hamlet, North Carolina as the only son to the late John K. Chavis Sr. and Carolina Paul Chavis, he lived in Jacksonville, Florida for several years as a child and teenager before moving to Rockingham and living his entire adulthood. John Co-Founded and Co-Owned a family business (John's Used Parts & Cars in Rockingham, N.C.) with his father in the early 1980's. He operated it for over 20 years. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and he loved Hot Rods. John was a Cancer Survivor twice. He is preceded in death by his wife, Michelle Chavis, Step-Son Kelly Crisco Jr. and Sister Patricia Holms.
