Jasie Isabel Perry was born on August 19, 1928 in Chicago, Illinois.  She was raised in Evanston IL and graduated from Evanston High School. She departed this life on October 28, 2022 in Fayettevile, NC.

Jasie attended St Ann's Church in Baldwin, Michigan. Jasie loved spending time with her cats. She enjoyed travel and lived in many places in the US as well as the United Kingdom. She traveled to Israel,  Russia  and in 2015 made an extensive trip with her daughter to Wales, England, France, Ireland, Faroe Islands, Iceland, Canada. All of this was accomplished after the amputation of her left leg in 1985.

In 1969 she moved to Idlewild, MI where she intially worked parttime as a bus driver for the 5 Cap Head Start. After attending Michigan State courses in the summers she worked as a classroom assistant, teacher and 10 years later retired as the Director of the program. Jasie  attended Christ for the Nation, Dallas, Tx. in the Fall of 1993 and graduated on May 2, 1996. She graduated with a Diploma of Practical Theology.

Jasie is preceded in death by Mother Mary Turman, her sister Marion "Dee"  Black and brothers, Wilbur, Sanford, Oliver, and Clarence.

Funeral Service will be at 2:00 pm on Friday, November 4, 2022 at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Chapel, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton, NC 28328.

Jasie leaves to cherish her memories: Daughter: Paula Elizabeth Mance (Sacramento, Ca), Grandson: Jonas Wahlstrom, Great Grandson: Caleb Wahlstrom, Great Granddaughter: Aaliyah Taylor; Son: Steven Christopher Windsor Mance, Grandson: Steven Christopher Mance, II; Great Grandson: Andrew Mance; Great Great Grands: Edmond, Emma and Amythyst; Great Grandsons: Alex Mance and Steven 'Trey' Mance, III, Great Granddaugher: Crystal Mance; Son: Nathaniel Rainey, Jr. (Fairview, Tx), Daughter In-Law Elora LaFaye Rainey, Grandsons: Nathaniel Jelani Rainey, III, James Jahi Rainey,  Granddaughter: Shani Eshe Rainey: Son: Arthur Rainey (Oakland, Ca), Granddaughter:  Latifah Sinead Rainey; Son: Thomas Abate Mengesha, Esq (Orchard Lake, Mi), Granddaughters: Angelica Atnafework Mengesha, Marissa Elise Mengesha, Grandsons: Thomas Rainey Mengesha, II, Troy Xavier Mengesha, Judah Abate Mengesha, Malachi True Mengesha, Matthew Simon Mengesha; Son: Joel Martin Rainey (Hope Mills, NC), Grandson: 1LT Isaiah Joel-Martin Rainey, USAF, Granddaughter: Jasmine Marie Rainey; Niece: Barbara Ann 'Bobby' Woods.
