Clinton, James Julius Register was born November 21, 1929 in Clinton, N.C. to the late Hattie Register and Joe Fredrick. He has six (6) siblings with one living sister. Thelma Ruth Beamon of New York, N.Y. He entered eternal rest on October28, 2014 at approximately 8:40 am at Southwood Nursing Home. James attended Sampson County Schools. At an early age he joined St. Paul Church of Christ. His hobbies were fishing and hunting as long as his health permitted. He liked to laugh and joke with whoever he came in contact with. A home going service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at Hope Valley Funeral Chapel with Dr, Onyx Martin officiating, burial will follow in Sandhill Cemetery in Clinton. James leaves to cherish his wife Emma Bunting Register of 63 years. To this union eight (8) children, Two preceded him in death, Bernard of Clinton, James Ray (Peggy) of Clinton, Doris An Tillery (Willie) of Magnolia, Winfred Odell (Brenda) of Turkey, Debbie of the home and Dennis of Dudley. Thirteen (13) grandchildren, fifteen (15) great-grandchildren, three (3) great-great- grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. A public visitation will be held on Friday, October 31, 2014 from 1:00 - 6:00 pm at Hope Valley Funeral Service & Cremation, 1246 Hobbton Hwy. Clinton.
