Obituary

Monday, September 8, 2025, James Harold Henry died peacefully in his sleep at home. He is now resting in the arms of his savior.

Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, September 13, 2025 at Bearskin Missionary Baptist Church, 4721 Bearskin Rd., Clinton, NC 28328. Pastor Tony Harrington, officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Visitation will take place one hour prior to the service, 12:00-1:00 pm, at Bearskin Missionary Baptist Church.

There will be a public walk-thru on Friday, September 12, 2025 from 2:00-5:00 pm at Hope Valley Hawkins Funeral Service & Cremation.

James was born February 26, 1950 in Salemburg, NC to Luther and Eldorothy Henry. He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents: Robert and Lena Monk; paternal grandparents: Thaddeus and Ella Henry; his brother: Donnell Henry; and sisters: Mary Helen Monk and Dorothy Henry.

James Harold was a humble and gentle man. He always had a warm and pleasant smile. James grew up in the Bearskin community and received his education from the public schools. Growing up he enjoyed playing baseball, fishing, and racing cars. He was employed by Martin's Meats where he retired with 32 years of dedicated service.

Left to cherish his memories; his loving companion of 28 years: Blonnie Owens of the home; one daughter: Lauritt (Jeffery) Cooper of Salemburg, NC; one bonus son: Thomas 'Buddy' (Felicia) McLamb of Fayetteville, NC; two grandchildren: Courtney (Mikasa) and Timothy (Tiffany), both of Salemburg, NC; four great-grandchildren: Logan Cooper, Morgan Cooper, Greyson Cooper, all of Salemburg, NC and Cooper Melvin of Roseboro, NC; one sister: Debbie (Willie) Murphy of Salemburg, NC; two brothers: Ricky Henry of Salemburg, NC and Anthony (Bridgette) Henry of Roseboro, NC; one nephew, who was dear to his heart: Michael Henry of Roseboro, NC; special brother-in-law: Roscoe Bennett and special sister-in-law: Gloria Moore and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
